OBJECT LESSON

Bring a flashlight.

Explain:

  • The light represents your talents.
  • Pride shines it in people’s eyes.
  • False humility hides it under a blanket.
  • Humility shines it so others can see clearly.

“Let your light shine before others.” (Matthew 5:16)

DISCUSSION POINT: HELP ME UNDERSTAND (FALSE/TRUE HUMILITY vs FALSE/TRUE CONFIDENCE)

SHOW THE GRAPH OF HUMILITY

If a child is amazing at singing:

🚫 Pride:

“I’m the best singer here.”
